Unlike investor-owned health care systems, Sutter Health is a not for profit organization. As such, any money left over after employees and bills have been paid is reinvested in our health care mission.

It is well known that health care today is in challenging economic times. For years, rates paid by the government and private health care plans have fallen short of the cost of providing care, and there are proposals to cut even further. Today health care economics are the most difficult in history. As cost pressure continue to grow, Sutter Health and our not for profit network of hospitals have an increasing important role to protect quality community health care.
